- Divan (Il Canzoniere) is one of the two works written in Italian by Francesco Petrarch, who was honored with the “Poetry crown”. The book, which consists of poems many of which he wrote for the woman he loved, Laura, consists of two parts, “in vita” (poems written while Laura was alive) and “in morte” (poems written after Laura's death). The book, which consists of a total of 366 poems in different sizes such as sonnets, songs, ballads, sixes and madrigals, is not only one of Petrarch's most important works, but also one of the immortal texts of world literature.
