Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What is the maximum weight the suction cup can hold?
Answer: The upgraded car suction cup base can hold up to 5.5 lbs, making it suitable for securely mounting various devices like GPS units, smartphones, and other accessories. This weight capacity ensures that the suction cup maintains a strong grip on your windshield or dashboard, even on bumpy roads, preventing your device from falling or losing position. For example, if you're using it to hold a GPS for navigation during a road trip, you can trust that it will remain securely attached and your navigational aids will stay visible. -
Question:
How does the suction cup attach to surfaces?
Answer: The suction cup attaches to surfaces through a vacuum mechanism created by pulling a lever or pressing the cup against the desired surface. To achieve a strong hold, ensure the surface is clean and free of dust or debris before applying the suction base. Ideal for use on car windshields or smooth dashboards, this ensures optimal bonding while driving, particularly in scenarios like using a smartphone to facilitate hands-free navigation or streaming music. -
Question:
Is it compatible with all 17mm double socket arms?
Answer: Yes, this suction cup base is specifically designed to be compatible with standard 17mm double socket arms. This compatibility allows you to easily attach and detach various devices, making it seamlessly versatile for different car accessories. If you already have a 17mm socket arm for a GPS or phone holder, you can use this suction base without needing additional adapters, simplifying your setup for an organized and clutter-free space. -
Question:
Can this suction cup be used in extreme weather conditions?
Answer: The suction cup is designed to perform well in a range of weather conditions, including both hot and cold climates. However, ensure the cup is properly sealed to the surface to maintain its performance. During hot weather, make sure it’s not exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods, as this could affect adhesion. It’s particularly useful for users in diverse climates, allowing you to confidently mount devices while staying focused on the road. -
Question:
How do you remove the suction cup without damaging your windshield?
Answer: To remove the suction cup without damaging your windshield, gently pull the tab at the edge to break the seal created by the vacuum. Avoid using sharp objects to pry it off, as this could scratch or damage the surface. This ensures that your windshield remains clear and undamaged, while you can easily relocate your device as needed, whether it’s moving the suction cup to another car or placing it in a different position within the same vehicle. -
Question:
Is the suction cup reusable?
Answer: Absolutely! The suction cup can be reused multiple times. To maintain its effectiveness, simply clean the surface of the suction cup and the area of attachment if it becomes dirty over time. This reusability makes it a cost-effective solution for those who frequently switch between devices or cars, such as using GPS navigation on road trips and moving it back to your daily driver. -
Question:
What surfaces work best for this suction cup?
Answer: The suction cup works best on smooth, non-porous surfaces such as glass, smooth plastic, and metal. Surfaces like textured dashboards or uneven areas may hinder its effectiveness. Utilizing this cup on ideal surfaces ensures maximum grip and stability, especially when navigating or using highlighted functions like hands-free calls, thereby enhancing your driving experience. -
Question:
Can it be used for mounting other items besides GPS or phones?
Answer: Certainly! Aside from GPS units and smartphones, this suction cup is versatile enough to hold a variety of devices such as cameras, dash cams, and even lightweight tablets. Its multi-functional design makes it ideal for anyone who needs to keep devices visible and accessible while driving, be it for navigation, capturing travel memories on the road, or utilizing entertainment interfaces. -
Question:
What should I do if the suction cup won't stick?
Answer: If the suction cup doesn’t stick, first ensure that both the suction cup and the surface are clean and free from residues. Sometimes moisture or dirt can prevent a good seal, so drying both surfaces can help. If it still doesn’t adhere, try warming the cup slightly to soften the material, which can enhance grip. This troubleshooting can be handy while setting up for a drive or adjusting the positioning for better visibility. -
