    Answer: Yes, USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 devices.

    Answer: It supports Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, Server 2003, and Server 2008.
  • Question: How do I install this PCI Express USB adapter?

    Answer: Simply open your chassis, insert the card into the PCI-E slot, and tighten the screw for secure installation.

  • Question: Does this require a power cable?

    Answer: YES! This card REQUIRES a power feed VIA the 4-pin Molex connector (the white one on the PCIe USB circuit board. The description is a bit misleading stating 'Built in 4-pin molex power for better support on power hungry bus-powered devices.' The way that reads it sounds like the Molex power connector is there for 'better support' implying, if you don't require extra power for a 'power hungry' devices then you may forgo the external power connector. But, that IS NOT SO. This card will not function without power supplied to the 4-pin Molex connector. Neither the internal 19/20 pin connector nor the external USB-3 Type-A connectors will function without that power connector attached. Check your computer to be sure you have a 4-Pin Molex connector available AND it's long enough to reach the PCIe card once installed. You may need an adapter cable; SATA power connector to Molex 4-Pin, or a Molex 4-pin extension cable.
  • Question: Do I need drivers?

  • Question: Can you help me install drivers on Linux Mint 20.1?

    Answer: I don't know much about Linux Mint, but I'm surprised. It 'just works' with the 5.15 and above kernels in Mageia 8 and Mageia 9. No additional drivers required.
  • Question: Work with Windows 10?

    Answer: Yes, mine works with Windows 10 & 11, without having to install drivers.
  • Question: Anyone manage to get this to work with Windows 11? The device only provides power but no data transfer. Any drivers?

    Answer: Make sure the connectors are seated correctly and the leads aren't broken. Though you are talking about the data transfer, I did not have power originally as the molex connector was slightly raised/bent. Pressing it back against the PCB fixed it. I bought three of these. Two for Windows 10 and one for a Windows 11 install. All work correctly with generic drivers installed by the OS. Hope this helps.
  • Question: Will this work with PCIe v1.1?

    Answer: This adapter would not work for me in any port.
  • Question: I have Windows 10. I cannot find the drivers for this. I purchased and can't use it. Should I send it back or are there drivers?

    Answer: You should not need any drivers for Windows 10. I installed it in my Win 10 PC and it worked automatically. Also, remember to make all your internal connections. Hope this helps.

    Answer: Mine is not labeled as such.
