Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What is the active ingredient in Repel Sportsmen Formula Mosquito & Insect Repellent?
Answer: The active ingredient in Repel Sportsmen Formula is 25% DEET. DEET is a widely used insect repellent known for its effectiveness against mosquitoes, ticks, and other biting insects. It works by interfering with the insects' ability to sense humans, thereby providing a barrier for protection. This formula is particularly beneficial for outdoor enthusiasts, as it's designed to repel insects during camping, hiking, and fishing trips. -
Question:
How long does the protection from Repel Sportsmen Formula last?
Answer: Repel Sportsmen Formula typically provides protection for up to 8 hours after application. However, the duration may vary based on factors such as sweating, weather conditions, and activities. For maximum effectiveness, it's advisable to reapply after extended exposure to the elements or strenuous physical activity. This makes it a practical choice for long outdoor days, ensuring you remain shielded from mosquitos and other insects. -
Question:
Is Repel Sportsmen Formula safe for kids?
Answer: Repel Sportsmen Formula is suitable for older children, but it's essential to follow the instructions on the label closely. For children under 2 months old, it’s recommended to consult a healthcare provider before use. It’s also wise to apply the repellent on your own hands first and then onto the child's skin to avoid contact with their eyes and mouth. This product can be instrumental during family camping trips or outdoor activities in heavily infested areas. -
Question:
Can I use Repel Sportsmen Formula on my skin and clothing?
Answer: Yes, Repel Sportsmen Formula can be applied directly to the skin and on clothing for enhanced protection. When applying to clothing, it's important to allow the product to dry completely, as this will reduce potential odors while maximizing effectiveness against ticks and mosquitoes. Ideal for hiking, fishing, and any outdoor activities, using this repellent on both skin and attire helps ensure a well-rounded defense against insect bites. -
Question:
Does Repel Sportsmen Formula have any fragrance or scent?
Answer: Repel Sportsmen Formula has a minimal scent due to the DEET, which can be less noticeable compared to other repellents that contain fragrances. This makes it a favorable choice for those who prefer a less aromatic product while engaging in outdoor activities. In situations where maintaining stealth is crucial, like hunting or wildlife photography, using a scent-free or low-scent repellent can help prevent attracting unwanted insects. -
Question:
Can Repel Sportsmen Formula be used in areas with Zika or West Nile Virus?
Answer: Absolutely, Repel Sportsmen Formula is effective in areas affected by Zika, West Nile Virus, and other mosquito-borne diseases. Its higher DEET concentration offers increased protection against disease-carrying insects, making it a critical item for outdoor excursions in such regions. If you're traveling to areas known for these diseases, packing this repellent is highly recommended to safeguard yourself and your family from bites. -
Question:
How do I properly apply Repel Sportsmen Formula?
Answer: To properly apply Repel Sportsmen Formula, hold the can approximately 6-8 inches from the skin. Spray evenly, ensuring coverage of exposed skin and do not spray directly onto the face. For facial application, spray on hands first and then rub onto face, avoiding eyes and mouth. This method ensures thorough coverage, especially when planning an outdoor adventure like camping or trail running, where insect exposure can be higher. -
Question:
Is Repel Sportsmen Formula safe to use with other cosmetics or skincare products?
Answer: Yes, Repel Sportsmen Formula can be used alongside other cosmetics or skincare products. However, it's beneficial to apply the repellent after any skin moisturizers or sunscreen for optimal efficacy. This layering ensures that both your skin remains moisturized while still providing a protective barrier against insects. Ideal for outdoor events or social gatherings, combining this repellent with regular skincare routines can enhance your readiness for outdoor fun. -
Question:
Where can I buy Repel Sportsmen Formula Mosquito & Insect Repellent 8.125 Oz, 25% DEET?
Answer: You can purchase Repel Sportsmen Formula Mosquito & Insect Repellent 8.125 Oz, 25% DEET at Ubuy in Trinidad and Tobago. Ubuy provides a convenient platform to acquire this effective insect repellent, making it accessible for your outdoor activities and protecting yourself from biting insects. -
Question:
What makes Repel Sportsmen Formula different from other insect repellents?
Answer: Repel Sportsmen Formula is distinguished by its 25% DEET concentration, which provides long-lasting, powerful protection against a wide range of insects. Unlike many other repellents that may require frequent reapplication, this formula's extended duration makes it ideal for activities like camping, hiking, or fishing. Its strong performance in areas with high insect populations sets it apart, ensuring that you can enjoy your outdoor adventures bite-free.
Nutritionist's Take
The Repel Sportsmen Formula Mosquito & Insect Repellent containing 25% DEET is primarily an insect repellent rather than a nutritional product. From a nutritionist's perspective, it does not provide any nutritional benefits as it is not ingested. However, it is crucial for outdoor enthusiasts and individuals in insect-prone areas because it effectively repels mosquitoes and ticks that can spread diseases. Potential drawbacks include skin irritation or allergic reactions for some users. While DEET is considered safe for use, excessive exposure or ingestion can lead to health issues. Thus, using this product requires caution, especially for those with sensitive skin or certain health conditions. Overall, while the product may not align with nutritional needs, it contributes to overall health by reducing the risk of insect-borne illnesses when used correctly.
