Unfortunately, it cannot be assembled with the ladder on the opposite side, and the desk and bottom bunk cannot be switched sides either. Additionally, it does not come with a mattress. However, the bed has a nice floor design and a maximum height of 78.1". One potential concern is that the ladder opening is only on one side of the bed, but the rails are only 10" high, making access safe and easy. Finally, it is not possible to set up the bed as a twin loft over twin without the 3rd bed. Overall, this bed may be a good option for those looking for a triple bunk bed with a desk but keep in mind the limitations mentioned in the FAQ.
