The mold has a closed bottom with an open end and can hold up to 2 and 1/3 cups. It is perfect for making ice spheres that can keep water jugs cold all day long, however, it might be a bit difficult to remove the mold from the ice sphere. The product has received mixed reviews from customers. Some have found it hard to remove their creations from the mold, while others found it easy to remove. A customer pointed out that using soap to remove the object from the mold is better than alcohol as using alcohol could ruin the mold over time. Another customer, however, had to cut the mold to remove the candle, which came out wrecked, and suggested using a two-piece mold for a round ball candle.
