The sliding plate for searing steaks is an added bonus. This product does not come with a cover, so you will have to purchase it separately. Many customers recommend using an insulated blanket and installing a gasket around the door to make it more efficient. To clean out the ash, you will have to remove the grates and use a vacuum cleaner hose. The pellets last for a long time depending on the heat and outside temperature, and the unit maintains temperature well. One downside to this product is that it leaks a little at the door.
