Is it slippery if you're sweating like in a vinyasa class?
Answer: The cork texture provides a natural grip—it should not be slippery, however every person has a different body chemistry. If you find your hands oily, excessively sweaty, or if you use lotion, you may slip on any surface. -

Answer: This wedge is made of EVA foam not cork. It is a stiff foam and has great stability. -

I'm very surprised that not everyone finds the surface to be a bit slippery once your palms begin sweating. I must be doing something wrong?
Answer: It is super slippery. The solution is to put it under your mat. It works like a dream if you do that. -

Answer: The wedge is 20 inches wide, by 6 inches wide on the slant surface and on the base, by 1 and 3/4 inches high on the thick edge. -

Answer: Considering that the high end is about 2 inches high, I suspect the angle is no more than 10-15 degrees. Please note, the board does get a bit slippery when it becomes wet from perspiration--regardless of what others say or do not say!!!! -

Is this firm enough to stand on (for example, for calf stretching) or would it compress too much to be effective?
Answer: I have not tried standing on my board. I believe, however, that it would be strong enough. Despite that it is composed of cork, it is very dense, with virtually no give/compression.
