The kit does come with everything you need for successful crystal growth and the instructions are easy to follow. However, it does require adult supervision and only two crystals can be grown at once. The growing chamber is delicate and cannot be moved, bumped, or disturbed in any way. Removing the crystals is also tricky and can result in the crystals breaking. The crystals will dissolve if they come into contact with water. On the plus side, the display stand has five spots for the crystals, and the glow-in-the-dark crystal is a fun addition. Overall, the National Geographic Mega Crystal Growing Lab is a great choice for kids who love science and experimenting.
