However, they're susceptible to damage from road debris, need to be secured with zip ties, and the glue on them won't hold for long. They're effective when used on the pipes and gate valves that are exposed to freezing temperatures, but installing them can be time-Consuming. They're not thermostatically controlled, so placement is important to avoid overheating, and they disfigure plastic material without a cooled surface. They work well for surface area, heat quickly, and have good adhesive backing. The heater pads are prone to failure, which may require replacement, but overall they work as expected when used correctly.
