Answer: Hello Sabina, This is a good question. I am trying to picture the fit on my trunk. You know, I think the rack will fit over your spoiler, as long as it's not the big crazy spoiler. Sabina, go to Youtube and type, 'Review: bike rack-Allen Sports Trunk Mount 2-bikes.' There is a guy giving instructions on how to attach rack to trunk. Will it leave permanent scratches on the car?
Answer: So far this bike rack hasn't left any scratches or dents on my car. It touches the car in very few places, and where it rests is covered in thick foam. If installed carefully you shouldn't scratch the paint. However, the bottom of the rack rests on the license plate, so I am a little worried that will get bent, but if that's not a big deal to you then this is a good rack for you. -

Will it fit a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrique with spoiler?
Answer: Hi Carol, As some other reviews say the spoiler interferes with how this rack is supposed to be installed on the car. Instead of over the spoiler installation, I used the belts to go under the spoiler and had the upper portion of the rack sit on the back of the trunk lift gate, and the lower portion was just under the number plate on my corolla. it was sturdy enough to hold the weight of two adult 26 inch bikes. the lower belt went under the lift gate and hooked onto the same edge of the lift gate where the upper two belts held it. I drove around maybe 5 miles max one way, and never had any issues in 6 months. Hope this helps. And yes, by installing it like that, you still get to use the trunk when there is no bike hanging off it.

The Allen Sports Trunk Mount 2-Bike Rack can be folded for storage, however, the arms still stick out. Customers have asked for guidance about the fit of the bike rack with various cars, including vehicles with spoilers, and the manufacturer has provided useful solutions. Setup, mounting and carrying around are easy, however, customers have experienced frequent adjustments on hatchback vehicles. The product is great value for the price and has a very easy setup. However, the instructions could be improved, and some customers reported challenges with assembling. One clip came off after only one use, and the rack was not safe after getting wet. The bike rack was installed on a transom rail using two strips of Velcro One Wrap and was found to be held securely even in rough conditions. One customer reported that the metal bar was challenging to insert into its socket, but once installed, the rack was very sturdy. In contrast, another customer reported the rack fell off during a trip and the bikes got run over by an 18-wheeler.
