Do they have a brass instead of a plastic stem?
Answer: No I am not aware of any brass version. I have been using Avanti Cartridges for more than 20 years and I have never had a problem with them. Price Pfister makes quality Avanti Cartridges. A plumber replaced my Avanti Cartridge with a cheap generic one to save $, and tenant started complaining about leaking and tight operation within 2 years. Replaced cheap generic with OEM Price Pfister and problem solved. No complaints from tenant! Highly recommend Price Pfister Avanti Cartridge. -
Question:
Are the S74-292 and the 974-292 the same cartridge?
Answer: Spoke with a rep from Price Pfister today and he confirmed these two are the same. He stated some retailers carry the S model and it is not a Pfister product. I could not find the S model in their catalog nor any other info justifying the S model being twice the price. -

Is this actually 6" long
Answer: No, it is 4 inches long. -

i watched a video on youtube and the gentleman referenced 132315 has the official "p.p." part number. is this an equivalent?
Answer: This Pfister faucet control is discontinued, so all you are ever going to get is an after market cartridge, but they are good and they work. All you have to be certain of is having the correct one. They look similar, but are different. I have replaced a couple of ones; mostly because of freeze damage, and they work fine. Good luck! -

Can you reverse hot and cold sides by adjusting the valve or installing it differently? Thanks!
Answer: No the hot/cold water temperature is controlled by twisting the knob to the left or right; turn on/off is by pulling out the knob. Hot/cold water connect to the faucet (not the cartridge); I suppose you could reverse the hot/cold water connections to the faucet. -

Shows 3 similar items, all a little different. How do I know what replaces my shower, and sink?
Answer: Pfister s742920 is the genuine part. This is the best one to get for the shower. I replaced an aftermarket one that was 2 weeks old that was pretty bad. -
