The lock has a plastic casing and keyhole cover that make it freeze resistant, and it has been used successfully outside even in harsh weather conditions. Additionally, the yellow and black plastic parts are firmly attached to the metal underneath, and the lock comes with two keys that can be duplicated at a locksmith. While the lock can be cut or grinded off, it is harder to get through than most locks and may deter thieves who don't want to make a lot of noise or draw attention. The lock has a high spring tension for the core and good feedback for feeling counter rotation of the spools when picking, making it more challenging to pick than other Master Locks. The lock is made to specific Master Lock specifications by one of their manufacturers in Mexico.
