Midiplus MIDI Controllers Origin 62 Editorial Review
The midiplus Key Midi Controller (Origin 62) is a versatile and affordable device that will suit most home producers or musicians. Although its manual may be challenging to decipher for some, once you get past that initial difficulty, you can already produce good music. It is ideal to pair with most digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Ableton and Studio One 5. However, it's worth noting that it has no aftertouch feature. The interface looks and feels decent, with a good set of knobs and sliders and excellent mod and pitch wheels. On the downside, the keys and drum pads need to be improved. The velocity recognition accuracy of the keys is poor, and lighter keystrokes are not recognized at all. Strong keystrokes, on the other hand, tend to spike to a very high volume.
