The filter material is electrostatically charged, which could explain its dense MERV 13 rating, capable of capturing unwanted particles from the air. However, the problems start on installation, as customers have reported that the filter bends and buckles quickly. This results in weak spots that allow dust to pass through, which may cause problems for you if you have weak respiratory systems or allergies. The cardboard used is also not sturdy and could get sucked into the air handler, causing an annoying noise. Some customers have reported that these filters are a waste of money, but they do commend the company's customer service for offering a return policy.
